The Telkot to Nagarkot hike is one of the few hiking areas around Kathmandu, that still offers the best of typical Tamang traditions. The hike from Telkot to Nagarkot starts with a short drive from Kathmandu to Telkot (18 Km) walking 1 hour approx. We drive via Bhaktapur, a City of Divine Culture, you will have the option of visiting Bhaktapur Durbar Square as well.

From Telkot we start our hike with a gradual climb on well-maintained stairs. On the way, we visit Jalpa Devi Temple. The serene environment of the Temple provides a feeling of inner peace and harmony. You can find many temples and statues of various Hindu gods and goddesses inside Jalpa Devi Temple premises.

Itinerary

After breakfast our vehicle will pick you from your Hotel in Kathmandu and drive east to Telkot via Bhaktapur City. From Telkot start our hiking passing several Tamang villages, fields, Temples and Monasteries. A three hours leisurely hike will takes us to Nagarkot. Enjoy your lunch at one of the best possible Restaurant. Later drive back to Kathmandu. You will have an option to stay in Nagarkot for overnight, for sunset and sunrise view. We recommend to witness the view of Sunset and sunrise over Mountains like Langtang, Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankhar, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, Makalu to Kanchenjunga in the far east.

What is new Covid-19 policy for travelling to Nepal?

Nepal is fully open without any restrictions. Nepal Government has issued a new advisory regarding travel restrictions on 01 March 2022 rescinding all previously issued restrictions. No need for quarantine to enter Nepal. The following criteria should have to be followed while traveling to Nepal:

1) Travelers must show documents regarding the last dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to Nepal’s arrival. If you are not vaccinated or partially vaccinated, you must bring a negative PCR/RT result, checked not more than 72 hours prior to your arrival.
2) The government of Nepal has removed the compulsion of PCR tests while traveling to Nepal, however, re-confirm with any other country you enter for transit.
3) You need a COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination (CCMC) generated QR Code. You can either print the bar code or take a screenshot, and keep it safe while traveling to Nepal.

This tour is suitable for every kind of traveler. There are no age restrictions or any other restrictions. However, it is recommended to consult your physician before traveling if you have any medical conditions.

Is Nepal safe to travel to?

Nepal is in fact one of the safest places to travel to. The crime rate especially related to foreign visitors is very few.
The main risk appears with your dietary requirements. Please take advice from your physician before traveling if you have certain health conditions. Most of the hotels and resort serves proper drinking water and food. Bottled water can be found easily in all cities. In the trekking trial, you can find boiled water (sometimes at extra cost) at shops and teahouse lodges. Don’t forget to bring/ or buy water purification tablets.
